Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall D
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Chiefs let Orange fall and pounced. Final grade: D.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Chiefs, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Keldric Faulk
A straight-up fair deal on Keldric Faulk at pick 9, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Pick21 Rnd1 Jordyn Tyson
In pick No. 21 they get a true top target at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick40 Rnd2 Avieon Terrell
Avieon Terrell in Round 2, Pick 8 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick74 Rnd3 Max Klare
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Max Klare at No. 74 is the proof. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick109 Rnd4 Domonique Orange
Circle this one: Domonique Orange at slot 109 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick121 Rnd4 Genesis Smith
A safety of that caliber at the 121st overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick147 Rnd5 Max Iheanachor
Max Iheanachor at No. 147 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick177 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in the 177th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
