The Steelers bet big and early on DeMonte Capehart, 35 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. The final tally is a middling C-.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback and edge rusher still on the board.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
