A respectable, level-headed haul for the Steelers: B-.

Priorities are a choice, and the Steelers made a strange one, taking Javon Foster at offensive lineman in the 119th pick with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots crying out for the pick instead. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Getting Owens where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The cost of the Frazier reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
Terrion Arnold in No. 20 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick51 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier at the 51st overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick84 Rnd3 Xavier Legette
Value with a capital V on Xavier Legette in No. 84, a genuine coup. The roster fit checks out.
Pick118 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at pick 118 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick119 Rnd4 Javon Foster
A want over a need in the 119th pick: Javon Foster adds an offensive lineman while quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick194 Rnd6 Jase McClellan
Jase McClellan in the Round 6 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick240 Rnd7 Tyler Owens
Tyler Owens is a better player than Round 7, Pick 20 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
