Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall F
ValueB- NeedB- TradesF FutureC
The Steelers lost the trade table, and the F tells the story.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Steelers, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.

The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Van Pran pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots still on the board. Bullard at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Saquon Barkley gives the group a proven body among the projects.

In the end, a class that has to defy its grades just to matter.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 JC Latham
In the 13th pick they get protection for the quarterback. Need was not the driver here.
Pick27 Rnd1 Adonai Mitchell
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick48 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
They took T.J. Tampa at par in the 48th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick55 Rnd2 Javon Bullard
They let Javon Bullard come to them and pounced at the Round 2 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick70 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
A want over a need in slot 70: Sedrick Van Pran adds an offensive lineman while quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots keeps waiting.
