Conviction outran the board for the Steelers, and it cost them: F. Some picks age like wine; Enrique Cruz Jr. at pick 237 will need to, sitting 62 spots clear of his grade. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.
They will answer for taking offensive lineman early while safety, edge rusher and other spots went begging. On value alone, Muhammad makes the weekend a net positive.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
There is no soft landing here; this class has to massively overperform just to matter.
