There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Steelers started one anyway for Matthew Jones, 73 picks ahead of schedule.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Nubin pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Steelers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
