Legette should have been long gone. The Steelers pounced, and earned a B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Xavier Legette got past him. The Steelers do not have to explain a thing at the 84th pick. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

If Rogers pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Steelers indulged a want in Cohen while a need in safety, edge rusher and other spots stayed open.

Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.

Somehow Xavier Legette was still sitting there in the 84th overall pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

Of all the spots to shop, they chose offensive lineman. Javion Cohen in Round 4, Pick 20 leaves safety, edge rusher and other spots for later.

Justin Rogers at the 121st pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

Michael Barrett is a better player than slot 198 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.

Nothing to complain about; Sam Hartman went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
