The Steelers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+. The rest of the league had time to spare on Josh Proctor; the Steelers did not wait, grabbing him 59 spots ahead at pick 244. Too much went sideways, and the D+ is the honest tally.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. With quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on defensive back is the choice that costs them.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Steelers paired the rookies with proven help, Khalil Mack leading the way.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
