Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureC
The Steelers fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B.

The Steelers ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. However the rest shakes out, Devonshire at that price is a win they earned. They are betting Washington proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Nate Wiggins
In the 20th pick they get a lockdown presence outside. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Payton Wilson. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick84 Rnd3 Malik Washington
Malik Washington in No. 84 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick120 Rnd4 Spencer Rattler
They did well to land Spencer Rattler in Round 4, Pick 20, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick197 Rnd6 M.J. Devonshire
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing M.J. Devonshire in slot 197. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick238 Rnd7 Trey Knox
A tidy little value on Trey Knox in pick 238, a step better than break-even. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
