Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall C+
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Steelers get a C+.

You can usually follow a front office's logic. This one is harder. The Steelers spent Round 3, Pick 35 on Blake Fisher while quarterback, safety and other spots sat unaddressed. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. The Fisher reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
In pick 20 they get an anchor for the offensive line, reach and all. Need was not the driver here.
Pick51 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
They paid sticker price for Xavier Worthy in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick84 Rnd3 Max Melton
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Max Melton in pick 84. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick98 Rnd3 Blake Fisher
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Blake Fisher at offensive lineman with quarterback, safety and other spots open.
Pick119 Rnd4 Jaylin Simpson
Jaylin Simpson in No. 119 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick178 Rnd6 Jordan Jefferson
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Jefferson at pick No. 178, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick195 Rnd6 Cornelius Johnson
They did well to land Cornelius Johnson in Round 6, Pick 20, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
