Somebody in pick 144 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Steelers sat still while Brenden Rice, the No. 121 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Reaching for Jeffcoat left real value on the table behind him. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

Spending an early pick on offensive lineman with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

If Brian Thomas Jr. and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
