Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Luke McCaffrey got past him. The Steelers do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 178. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

Reaching for Williams left real value on the table behind him. Spending an early pick on offensive lineman with safety, edge rusher and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety.

Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.
