Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B+
ValueA NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Steelers and Schwesinger: B+.

The Steelers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Carson Schwesinger fell into pick 223. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In pick 28 they get an anchor for the offensive line at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
Pick84 Rnd3 Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson in Round 3, Pick 20 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick120 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
The board fumbled Kevin Winston Jr. all the way to the 120th pick, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick138 Rnd5 Jake Majors
Jake Majors at slot 138 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick163 Rnd5 Danny Stutsman
Steal is underselling it; Danny Stutsman at the 163rd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick204 Rnd6 Samuel Brown
Samuel Brown at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick223 Rnd7 Carson Schwesinger
Carson Schwesinger in pick No. 223 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick229 Rnd7 Upton Stout
They robbed the room for Upton Stout here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick242 Rnd7 Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed in pick No. 242 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
