Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB- TradesA- FutureB-
Grand theft in slot 178: the Steelers steal Davis and grade out a B.

The Steelers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Isaiah Davis, the No. 155 name on the board, in the 178th pick.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Rice reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The Frazier pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In the 20th overall pick they get a building block for the line at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick58 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the Round 2 slot on Zach Frazier with interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots unsolved.
Pick84 Rnd3 Max Melton
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Max Melton in Round 3, Pick 20. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jalen McMillan
Jalen McMillan in pick No. 91 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick98 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Value said wait; Brenden Rice in pick 98 says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick119 Rnd4 Kamren Kinchens
The board fumbled Kamren Kinchens all the way to slot 119, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick178 Rnd6 Isaiah Davis
Circle this one: Isaiah Davis at the 178th pick is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick195 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at No. 195 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219 Rnd6 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Nice patience on Edefuan Ulofoshio, who had no business lasting to slot 219. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick245 Rnd7 Bub Means
A slide stopped in pick 245, with Bub Means worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
