Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Steelers for Ferguson: B.

The Steelers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Terrance Ferguson, the No. 122 name on the board, in slot 163. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Every board in the league had Williams lower, and that gap is the story.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In the 30th overall pick they get a run-stuffing presence up front at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick52 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
They paid up for Azareye'h Thomas at slot 52 when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick56 Rnd2 Tre Harris
Tre Harris at pick 56 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick83 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at pick No. 83 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick122 Rnd4 Will Howard
Nice patience on Will Howard, who had no business lasting to Round 4, Pick 21. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick163 Rnd5 Terrance Ferguson
They robbed the room for Terrance Ferguson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick225 Rnd7 John Williams
John Williams at the 225th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick231 Rnd7 Craig Woodson
Craig Woodson in the Round 7 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick247 Rnd7 Cody Lindenberg
By-the-book stuff, Cody Lindenberg at pick 247 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
