Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureB-
The Steelers cashed the board's mistake on Coleman: B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Keon Coleman had no business being available in the 84th overall pick, and the Steelers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In pick No. 24 they get a blindside protector. Need was not the driver here.
Pick51 Rnd2 Kamari Lassiter
A quiet steal in No. 51: Kamari Lassiter for less than the market said. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick78 Rnd3 Calen Bullock
They did well to land Calen Bullock in slot 78, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick84 Rnd3 Keon Coleman
Steal is underselling it; Keon Coleman at pick 84 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick120 Rnd4 Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick151 Rnd5 Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at Round 5, Pick 15 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick173 Rnd5 Javion Cohen
Good price on Javion Cohen in the 173rd overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick197 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III in the 197th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick238 Rnd7 Rasheen Ali
Rasheen Ali in No. 238 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
