The Patriots fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Patriots took Joe Milton III a full 95 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

The Coleman value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
