Draft Grade — Jets
Overall D
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureA-
The Jets got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Jets reached some 65 spots for Garrett Dellinger, and value like that does not grow back. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. The Leonard value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Malaki Starks
In No. 12 they get a ballhawk on the back end. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick42 Rnd2 Josh Conerly Jr.
Josh Conerly Jr. at pick No. 42 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The roster fit checks out.
Pick44 Rnd2 Mykel Williams
Nice patience on Mykel Williams, who had no business lasting to pick 44. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick92 Rnd3 Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman in the 92nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick111 Rnd4 Dontay Corleone
Dontay Corleone at the Round 4 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick134 Rnd4 Garrett Dellinger
Garrett Dellinger at the 134th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick145 Rnd5 Daylen Everette
Daylen Everette at the Round 5 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick147 Rnd5 Riley Leonard
Riley Leonard at pick 147 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick221 Rnd7 Kaden Prather
Kaden Prather at No. 221 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
