Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B-

No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Cowboys.

The Brady Cook selection is the head-turner. The Cowboys reached 44 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Landing Loveland that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 James Pearce Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a double-digit-sack hope. Need was not the driver here.
Pick44 Rnd2 Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland in pick 44 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick76 Rnd3 Devin Neal
Devin Neal in slot 76 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick149 Rnd5 Logan Brown
A tidy little value on Logan Brown in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser in the 171st pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick174 Rnd5 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
KeAndre Lambert-Smith at No. 174 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick204 Rnd6 Clay Webb
Clay Webb slid further than he should have, and pick 204 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick211 Rnd6 Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris at Round 6, Pick 35 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick239 Rnd7 Brady Cook
A wild overpay on Brady Cook in the 239th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick247 Rnd7 Cam Jackson
They barely believed it either: Cam Jackson still on the board at the Round 7 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
