Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The Seahawks lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Collin Oliver at the 234th overall pick is 58 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Walker falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.

Pick Analysis
Pick39 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
The board had Jalon Walker higher than pick 39, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick41 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks in slot 41 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick50 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
Tyler Booker slipping to No. 50 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick52 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at the 52nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick80 Rnd3 Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge slid further than he should have, and pick No. 80 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick82 Rnd3 Jordan Phillips
Jordan Phillips in the Round 3 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson at slot 92 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick99 Rnd3 Terrance Ferguson
Terrance Ferguson in the 99th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jeffrey Bassa
A straight-up fair deal on Jeffrey Bassa at No. 117, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick137 Rnd4 O'Donnell Fortune
They liked O'Donnell Fortune enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 4 slot. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick151 Rnd5 Ajani Cornelius
Value said wait; Ajani Cornelius in pick 151 says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick172 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A reach for Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick No. 172; a little patience would have been rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick175 Rnd5 Nazir Stackhouse
They reached into another round for Nazir Stackhouse, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick219 Rnd7 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Jamon Dumas-Johnson in the 219th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick223 Rnd7 Hayden Conner
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Hayden Conner well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick234 Rnd7 Collin Oliver
Collin Oliver at the 234th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
