Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureC+
The 49ers robbed the room for Stutsman. Final grade: B+.

You build a draft on nights like this. Danny Stutsman had no business being available in Round 4, Pick 24, and the 49ers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

The Dellinger pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In slot 24 they get a disruptive interior force at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick28 Rnd1 Jalon Walker
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Benjamin Morrison
No drama and no debate, Benjamin Morrison went about where he belonged in the 43rd pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick75 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at pick No. 75 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick100 Rnd3 Jake Majors
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jake Majors. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick102 Rnd3 Jordan Phillips
Jordan Phillips at pick 102 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick113 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
A safety of that caliber at the 113th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick126 Rnd4 Danny Stutsman
They barely believed it either: Danny Stutsman still on the board at the Round 4 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick142 Rnd5 Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton at pick No. 142 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick147 Rnd5 Jeffrey Bassa
The board fumbled Jeffrey Bassa all the way to the 147th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick160 Rnd5 Raheim Sanders
Nice patience on Raheim Sanders, who had no business lasting to the 160th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick182 Rnd6 Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant at Round 6, Pick 6 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick249 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
Somehow Isaac TeSlaa was still sitting there in pick 249, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick252 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
Garrett Dellinger at slot 252 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
