A masterclass at the trade table lands the Titans a A-. Nobody had Justin Eboigbe this high, and it is not close. The Titans reached 44 spots to get him at the 228th pick.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The Titans paired the rookies with proven help, Davante Adams leading the way. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick Analysis
Pick39
Rnd2
Troy Fautanu
They took Troy Fautanu at par in pick 39, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick107
Rnd4
AJ Barner
AJ Barner at the Round 4 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It fills a real need, too.
Pick131
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in the 131st overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick144
Rnd5
Mike Sainristil
They paid sticker price for Mike Sainristil in pick No. 144, and that is fine. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick185
Rnd6
Cornelius Johnson
A big swing on Cornelius Johnson at No. 185, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
Pick228
Rnd7
Justin Eboigbe
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Justin Eboigbe. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
