Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The Seahawks bled value on every deal, hence the D.

The tape said wait; the Seahawks did not. Collin Oliver went at the 234th overall pick, a good 57 picks before the board was ready. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.

The Zabel value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Ivan Pace Jr. gives the group a proven body among the projects.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick39 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 7: Jalon Walker for less than the market said. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick41 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Nice patience on Malaki Starks, who had no business lasting to pick 41. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick50 Rnd2 Grey Zabel
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Grey Zabel in the Round 2 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick52 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
No edge and no loss on Jayden Higgins in No. 52; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick80 Rnd3 Chris Paul Jr.
They took Chris Paul Jr. at par in pick No. 80, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick82 Rnd3 Jared Wilson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jared Wilson this early at the 82nd overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
They paid sticker price for Jalen Milroe in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick97 Rnd3 Gunnar Helm
Nothing to complain about; Gunnar Helm went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jeffrey Bassa
A straight-up fair deal on Jeffrey Bassa at Round 4, Pick 15, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick137 Rnd4 O'Donnell Fortune
O'Donnell Fortune at pick 137 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick151 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in No. 151 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick172 Rnd5 Nazir Stackhouse
A wild overpay on Nazir Stackhouse in slot 172, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick175 Rnd5 JJ Pegues
They paid up for JJ Pegues at the 175th pick when waiting would have done the job. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick223 Rnd7 Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner at the 223rd overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick234 Rnd7 Collin Oliver
A big swing on Collin Oliver at pick 234, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
