Draft Grade — Ravens

FutureC
Nobody dealt better than the Ravens this weekend: B. The Ravens put a flag in the ground for Kendall Milton, 133 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
However the rest shakes out, Colson at that price is a win they earned. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick49
Rnd2
Quinyon Mitchell
Somehow Quinyon Mitchell was still sitting there in pick 49, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick55
Rnd2
Patrick Paul
A slide stopped in No. 55, with Patrick Paul worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick62
Rnd2
Adisa Isaac
Adisa Isaac at the 62nd overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick63
Rnd2
Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick83
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
A big swing on Khyree Jackson at Round 3, Pick 19, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick94
Rnd3
Junior Colson
Junior Colson at the 94th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick105
Rnd4
Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III at pick No. 105 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick116
Rnd4
DJ James
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on DJ James. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick131
Rnd4
Malik Washington
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Malik Washington at No. 131 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick164
Rnd5
Delmar Glaze
Delmar Glaze at the Round 5 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick176
Rnd6
Jaylin Simpson
Jaylin Simpson at slot 176 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick248
Rnd7
Kendall Milton
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kendall Milton this early at the 248th pick. The roster fit checks out.
