The Browns did not so much draft Jalen Milroe as overpay for him, 49 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

They banked enough surplus on White III to cover a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
