FutureB-
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B+. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
Landing Corley that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Reaching for Jones left real value on the table behind him.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In pick 1 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick14
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In the 14th overall pick they get a bendy edge with upside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
A reasonable price with a little left over, Xavier Legette in the 45th pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick75
Rnd3
Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley in pick No. 75 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick122
Rnd4
Christian Jones
They jumped the gun on Christian Jones, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It fills a real need, too.
