A sensible, unshowy class lands the Patriots a B.

The Patriots spent real capital to be 29 picks early on Hayden Conner, and the board is going to hold them to it.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
