Bill DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
Sanders is the Browns' new face under center. Grade: B. The J.J. Weaver pick is the one that will follow the Browns into the fall. They took him 124 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Stutsman value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The whole projection now runs through Shedeur Sanders; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In the Round 1 slot they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 1: Malaki Starks for less than the market said. The roster fit checks out.
Pick67
Rnd3
Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild at the 67th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick93
Rnd3
Rylie Mills
Rylie Mills at No. 93 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
Pick103
Rnd4
Quinshon Judkins
Somehow Quinshon Judkins was still sitting there in slot 103, and they pounced on premier running back value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick167
Rnd5
JJ Pegues
A reach for JJ Pegues in the 167th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick178
Rnd6
Theo Wease Jr.
Theo Wease Jr. in slot 178 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick191
Rnd6
Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman at No. 191 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick203
Rnd6
Logan Parr
Logan Parr at pick No. 203 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick214
Rnd6
Cam Skattebo
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Cam Skattebo in the 214th overall pick, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick215
Rnd6
J.J. Weaver
They reached into another round for J.J. Weaver, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
