The Bears left with their quarterback, and a C to match.

Start where it matters. The Bears took J.J. McCarthy to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Call it a C and check back in two years.

They are betting Randolph Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They banked enough surplus on Paul to cover a lot of smaller sins. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
