The Bears left with their quarterback, and a B+ to match. The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
Nubin falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Adding Dayo Odeyingbo by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams in the 1st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick15
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In pick 15 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick46
Rnd2
Roman Wilson
By-the-book stuff, Roman Wilson at the 46th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick75
Rnd3
Tyler Nubin
Tyler Nubin in slot 75 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick122
Rnd4
Tyler Davis
They took Tyler Davis at par in the Round 4 slot, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
