The tape said wait; the Commanders did not. Jalen Travis went at the 226th overall pick, a good 57 picks before the board was ready.

That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
