Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureC+
Nobody dealt better than the Titans this weekend: B+.

They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Solomon Byrd, 35 picks early at Round 7, Pick 7. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Landing Wilson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick 14 they get a difference-maker at receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick15 Rnd1 JC Latham
JC Latham at slot 15 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick51 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick65 Rnd3 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in the 65th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Pick66 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul in the 66th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick71 Rnd3 Jaylen Wright
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaylen Wright. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick146 Rnd5 Jared Wiley
They went early on Jared Wiley in the Round 5 slot, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick182 Rnd6 Tanor Bortolini
They paid sticker price for Tanor Bortolini in pick 182, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick221 Rnd7 Michael Barrett
They jumped the gun on Michael Barrett, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick227 Rnd7 Solomon Byrd
Solomon Byrd at slot 227 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick242 Rnd7 Trey Taylor
They reached a country mile for Trey Taylor at Round 7, Pick 22, and the board is aghast. A minor need, but a need all the same.
