Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Cowboys for Brown: B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Cowboys should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.

Brown falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get a bell-cow for the offense, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick44 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Emeka Egbuka at the Round 2 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick76 Rnd3 Danny Stutsman
A conviction pick on Danny Stutsman at pick 76 that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick149 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore at the 149th pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick171 Rnd5 Connor Colby
Connor Colby at No. 171 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick174 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Steal is underselling it; Logan Brown at the 174th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick204 Rnd6 Jason Marshall Jr.
They took Jason Marshall Jr. at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick211 Rnd6 Woody Marks
They will replay Woody Marks at No. 211 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick239 Rnd7 Cam Horsley
Cam Horsley at pick 239 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick247 Rnd7 Cody Lindenberg
Cody Lindenberg in the 247th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
