Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall
B

FutureB
A solid, sensible weekend for the Vikings: B. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Vikings spent slot 176 on Joe Milton III, a name the board had a full 23 spots lower. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Gore Jr.. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Adding Taysom Hill by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get juice off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick42
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 42 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick61
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske in No. 61 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick111
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
No drama and no debate, Cole Bishop went about where he belonged in the Round 4 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick118
Rnd4
Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer in the 118th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick128
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
A tidy bit of business in the 128th overall pick, where Sataoa Laumea graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick167
Rnd5
Javion Cohen
They took Javion Cohen at par in No. 167, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick176
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Joe Milton III well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick187
Rnd6
Dwight McGlothern
A quiet steal in pick No. 187: Dwight McGlothern for less than the market said. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick194
Rnd6
Cornelius Johnson
Cornelius Johnson in pick 194 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick230
Rnd7
Logan Lee
They paid up for Logan Lee at the 230th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick240
Rnd7
Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. at Round 7, Pick 20 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
