Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureB-
The Vikings did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Vikings spent the 161st pick on Lee Hunter, a name the board had a full 31 spots lower. No fireworks, but a solid B.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. That Robertson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup weapon at tight end at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick46 Rnd2 Sonny Styles
They did well to land Sonny Styles in the 46th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick56 Rnd2 Jonah Coleman
Jonah Coleman is a better player than pick 56 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick80 Rnd3 Keith Abney II
Keith Abney II slipping to slot 80 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick88 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
They read the board right and Zakee Wheatley was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 24. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick97 Rnd3 Parker Brailsford
This one needs a full-page explanation: Parker Brailsford in No. 97, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick161 Rnd5 Lee Hunter
They left a pile of value on the table to take Lee Hunter this early at slot 161. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick199 Rnd6 Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson at Round 6, Pick 18 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick231 Rnd7 Cayden Lee
Cayden Lee in pick 231 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick243 Rnd7 Fernando Carmona
A straight-up fair deal on Fernando Carmona at the 243rd pick, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
