Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall
B

FutureD+
The Vikings won the night they stopped Royals from sliding. Grade: B. The Vikings spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jalen Royals, the No. 62 name on the board, in slot 97.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
If Briningstool pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The Vikings clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick41
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at the Round 2 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick96
Rnd3
Devin Neal
Devin Neal slid further than he should have, and the 96th pick is lovely value for the running back. The roster fit checks out.
Pick97
Rnd3
Jalen Royals
Steal is underselling it; Jalen Royals at Round 3, Pick 33 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick106
Rnd4
Barrett Carter
Somehow Barrett Carter was still sitting there in pick No. 106, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick139
Rnd5
Jake Briningstool
A real head-scratcher, Jake Briningstool in the 139th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick144
Rnd5
Anthony Belton
They barely believed it either: Anthony Belton still on the board at pick 144. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick189
Rnd6
Dorian Strong
They will replay Dorian Strong at No. 189 for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick238
Rnd7
Zeek Biggers
Zeek Biggers is a better player than slot 238 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
