There is reaching, and then there is Sav'ell Smalls at No. 254. The Bengals jumped the board by 102 and dared it to prove them wrong. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

On value alone, Newton makes the weekend a net positive. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

It is not that Randolph Jr. is a bad player; it is that the Bengals had louder needs to answer first.

Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
