Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B-
ValueC NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Saints.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Savion Williams got past him. The Saints do not have to explain a thing at the 112th overall pick. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

They will need Sawyer to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Jack Sawyer
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get juice off the edge, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick40 Rnd2 T.J. Sanders
A straight-up fair deal on T.J. Sanders at the 40th pick, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick71 Rnd3 Jared Ivey
Jared Ivey in slot 71 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick93 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 29, where Mason Taylor graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Pick112 Rnd4 Savion Williams
They barely believed it either: Savion Williams still on the board at No. 112. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick131 Rnd4 Kyle McCord
They read the board right and Kyle McCord was the payoff at the Round 4 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick184 Rnd6 Tyler Cooper
A reach on Tyler Cooper in pick 184; the board had better options right there. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick248 Rnd7 Bilhal Kone
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Bilhal Kone in the 248th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick254 Rnd7 Corey Kiner
Nice patience on Corey Kiner, who had no business lasting to pick No. 254. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
