Chuk DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Chiefs: B-. The Gennings Dunker selection is the head-turner. The Chiefs reached 34 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Gennings Dunker
In the 29th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick61
Rnd2
Joe Royer
Joe Royer at pick No. 61 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick93
Rnd3
Dontay Corleone
Dontay Corleone in the 93rd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick116
Rnd4
Will Lee III
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Will Lee III at slot 116. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick168
Rnd5
Jamal Haynes
Jamal Haynes at pick 168 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
Pick207
Rnd6
PJ Williams
They reached a country mile for PJ Williams at Round 6, Pick 31, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick212
Rnd6
Barion Brown
The board fumbled Barion Brown all the way to pick No. 212, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick242
Rnd7
Javien Toviano
Nice patience on Javien Toviano, who had no business lasting to Round 7, Pick 26. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick257
Rnd7
Ethan O'Connor
Ethan O'Connor is a better player than slot 257 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
