Maye is the Rams' new face under center. Grade: D-. Somebody in Round 6, Pick 38 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Rams sat still while Will Shipley, the No. 108 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Everything downstream of Drake Maye depends on Drake Maye, and the building knows it.
They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
