If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Rams, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend.

They banked enough surplus on Bishop to cover a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
