Jjh069 DRAFTING FOR THEBears

FutureA+
More right than wrong for the Bears, and a B+ to prove it. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Bears spent the 206th overall pick on Jalen Travis, a name the board had a full 90 spots lower.
However the rest shakes out, Johnson at that price is a win they earned. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a two-high chess piece, and a steal at that. More want than need.
Pick39
Rnd2
Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton in the Round 2 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick41
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at slot 41 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick45
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
They took JT Tuimoloau at par in No. 45, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick72
Rnd3
Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson at the 72nd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick109
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
A tidy little value on Jared Wilson in pick No. 109, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick148
Rnd5
Jack Nelson
Jack Nelson in pick 148 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick206
Rnd6
Jalen Travis
Jalen Travis at slot 206 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
Pick232
Rnd7
Ty Hamilton
They reached a country mile for Ty Hamilton at No. 232, and the board is aghast. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick233
Rnd7
Zeek Biggers
A reach for Zeek Biggers in the Round 7 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick240
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
This one needs a full-page explanation: Shilo Sanders in the 240th overall pick, miles early. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
