FOXY KNOXY DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

FutureB+
No fireworks, just a tidy B+ for the Seahawks. The Seahawks bet big and early on Jackson Hawes, 59 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right.
That Grant pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Adding Leo Chenal by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
The trade work was a quiet net positive.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at the Round 1 slot is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick51
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
They paid sticker price for Alfred Collins in the 51st overall pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick82
Rnd3
Demetrius Knight Jr.
They barely believed it either: Demetrius Knight Jr. still on the board at the 82nd pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick95
Rnd3
Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild at pick 95 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick121
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 20, where Jared Wilson graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick132
Rnd4
Charles Grant
Circle this one: Charles Grant at No. 132 is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick137
Rnd4
O'Donnell Fortune
The board had O'Donnell Fortune higher than pick 137, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick173
Rnd5
Tyler Shough
The board fumbled Tyler Shough all the way to the 173rd overall pick, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
Pick187
Rnd6
Jackson Hawes
A wild overpay on Jackson Hawes in No. 187, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick212
Rnd6
KeAndre Lambert-Smith
KeAndre Lambert-Smith in slot 212 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick236
Rnd7
Jaylin Smith
Jaylin Smith at pick No. 236 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
