The tape said wait; the Jets did not. Patrick Payton went at pick 179, a good 39 picks before the board was ready. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. Landing Washington that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
