FutureB-
The Giants answered their biggest question with Sanders. Grade: B. Somebody in pick No. 219 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while Dorian Strong, the No. 120 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The whole projection now runs through Shedeur Sanders; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reaching for Fairchild left real value on the table behind him.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In No. 8 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value.
Pick33
Rnd2
Mike Green
A tidy little value on Mike Green in pick No. 33, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick34
Rnd2
Grey Zabel
By-the-book stuff, Grey Zabel at the 34th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick65
Rnd3
Demetrius Knight Jr.
Fair-plus on Demetrius Knight Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick77
Rnd3
Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild in No. 77 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick99
Rnd3
Darius Alexander
Darius Alexander in Round 3, Pick 35 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick105
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
No drama and no debate, Jared Wilson went about where he belonged in the Round 4 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick106
Rnd4
Brashard Smith
Brashard Smith at pick 106 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick154
Rnd5
Kobe King
Kobe King in pick No. 154 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick216
Rnd6
Chimere Dike
A clean, defensible pick in slot 216 with a little surplus value in Chimere Dike. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219
Rnd7
Dorian Strong
Dorian Strong in pick No. 219 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick246
Rnd7
CJ Dippre
A reasonable price with a little left over, CJ Dippre in Round 7, Pick 30. The roster fit checks out.
