A sensible, unshowy class lands the 49ers a B-.

Everything else got attention, and running back got none. That is a strange way for the 49ers to leave a draft. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

The cost of the Hurst reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That Wheatley pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
