Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The 49ers never addressed running back, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

If Rutledge pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They banked enough surplus on Cooper Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins.

The trade work was a quiet net positive.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
