For all the boxes ticked, the 49ers skipped the loudest one: running back is exactly as bare as it was. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Landing Banks that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They are betting Rutledge proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
