Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureA+
The Bears turned the phones into found money: A-. The Bears ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.
If All pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Proctor at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Laiatu Latu
In pick 14 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick22
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick27
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In slot 27 they get a true top target at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick45
Rnd2
Ruke Orhorhoro
They went early on Ruke Orhorhoro in the 45th pick, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in No. 75 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick103
Rnd4
Audric Estime
By-the-book stuff, Audric Estime at Round 4, Pick 3 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick111
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
A straight-up fair deal on Cole Bishop at the 111th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick143
Rnd5
Ainias Smith
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ainias Smith at pick No. 143 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick145
Rnd5
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at slot 145 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick181
Rnd6
Erick All
A wild overpay on Erick All in the 181st pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick230
Rnd7
Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor slid further than he should have, and the 230th overall pick is lovely value for the safety. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
