The 49ers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Ja'Kobi Lane fell into pick No. 127. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The cost of the Kamara reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

No drama and no debate, Caleb Lomu went about where he belonged in No. 27. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
